Another new hobby!!

While I was away last weekend I went to a scrapbooking class with my daughter. She scrapbooked her wedding album and it is just gorgeous, unbelievably gorgeous.

This was my first time doing it.
She lives very near to a craft cool is that, and in the center is a cardmaking and scrapbooking shop.

Here is the blog entry about our class with the layouts that we beginners were using to start us off.

I chose to make a double page spread (using layout number 3)about the Christening gown worn by daughter and grandson.
It was a totally absorbing day, cut short as we had to leave early to return home.

I didn't think that I would ever finish my work as I rarely do my homework!! but today I finished it and am dying to do more, with a head full of ideas that will never come to fruition.

Oh no Not another hobby, I can't take it!!!

here is my first attempt

Now I need to do another page about the christening gown and it's history.

Of course this involves amassing a whole new stash!! well not quite only 12 by 12 sheets and an album of course. My card making stash will come in handy and the great thing about scrapbooking is that all the effort involved...stays here with me!!

Help...I am addicted!

  1. Now you are really hooked. I have been scrapbooking and cardmaking for about 10 years now. I love it. One of the cool things is you can add tatting to your pages. Isn't that great!!

  2. Beautiful - a great beginning! Tatted motifs make lovely accents on scrapbook pages. Good luck with this new-found interest.

  3. I bet you can use a lot of tatting in your scrapbooking.....

  4. Lovely work on your first scrapbook pages! They are darling! I do scrapbooking too! My scrapbook and cardmaking stash totally rivals my tatting stash...believe me...that is hard to do! LOL!

  5. I've wanted to start scrapbooking for such a long time..... one for my marriage my son, my tatting and so on .always seem to be getting new ideas but never get to put them into effect.
So nice of you to start it and love the looks of it.
Someday I'm going to find out time to do that too.......

  6. You'll have all the other scrappers wanting to learn to tat so that they can add pretty tatted motifs to their pages, too!

  7. Very pretty. I can see why you had such a good time and why you are hooked! Have fun.

  8. So glad you all stopped by to take a look. I can think of so many scrapbook that I NEED to make and so many ways to show off tatting but just not enough time or skill!

Chic I am not suprised that you scrapbook too, having seen your interest in the journals.

Vinnie I know just how you feel.
