Starting from NOW!

A while ago Miranda was trying to tempt me back into blogging. I told her that I have done so much and have so much to say that I don't know where to start.
She said:

START FROM WHAT YOU ARE DOING NOW!!

I guess she was right.....but I may work backwards a bit too!

In July I finally mailed my TAT Artisan Package......
.....it had only taken me 7 years....
Oh my goodness,I couldn't believe that I started it in 2005,
where did the time go to.
I remember chatting with Gina about it...only seems like yesterday.
I hope I made her proud of me.

It was a kick up the backside from my Lace Guild to get it finished and produce another certificate for them, that finally did it.
It was a LOT of hard work to get my pieces looking as good as I wanted....you know that I am that cursed thing..(I blame being a Virgo!)....
....a perfectionist....
......cant help it, I just had to do the best that I could possibly do.

 Yeah! Passed with flying colours.
Just received my TAT MASTER pack and.....
Oh My! this is a whole new set of challenges. Tatting places that I have never ventured into!!

See you soon to show you some TATTING!

More Blue Lagoon and a fab award.

Today's piece of Blue Lagoon tatting is another of the Julie Patterson bookmark series (see previous blog posts for more).

Again it is tatted in size 20 DMC Cordonnet special and it does that wonderful trick of having the different coloured flowers on opposite sides of the stem. I love it.

But, but, but, way better than this is the beautiful award given to me by TattingChic.
It is the Rennee Award designed and given out in blogland by Bella Sinclair.
This was my first visit to Bella's blog and I was blown away by the talent.

This is what Bella says about the award...

This one is meaningful to me in three profound ways. Firstly, it was created in honor of Renee, one human being who has made such a difference in the lives of many just by being. Her honestly, wit, intelligence, and grit are a tremendous source of inspiration. She can elicit raucous laughter and guffaws in her banter, and then turn right around and offer the most heartfelt, gentle words of wisdom and emotional support. She is a spreader of love, simple and true. And her love is infectious.

Secondly, this award was created in collaboration with one of my best friends, Ces. She is, in Renee's own words, truly original. She is an incredible artist, both in pen and ink and paint. She is fiery passion with a gentle hand. She is laughter, fun, joy, intellectual stimulation, a sister. The concept and design of the award belong to Ces.

Thirdly, this is a brand new award, and I have the pleasure and honor of spreading the seed, watching it grow. I hope it finds its way to those who are like Renee: the acorn, a small package becoming a tall and sturdy oak giving more acorns, becoming tall and sturdy oaks, giving acorns…

Isn't that beautiful.

Thank you so much TattingChic you are a true acorn and through your blog you have grown into a majestic oak and I see tatting acorns germinating in blogland because of your enthusiasm. I hope that my tatting acorns will grow as well as yours. I will wear it with pride.

This award has no rules about passing it on. If I could pass it on to you Chic I would and also to the tatters that you have nominated.

I shall pass this on to just three tatter's blogs. Firstly to someone who I have watched bloom as a blogger, as a tatter, and comedienne and now as an artist. Carol you always entertain me.

The second one belongs to Steph who loves to tat animals like I do. Her skills as a tatter of size 80 thread and her colourful combinations never cease to amaze me and her enthusiasm is catching.

Thirdly to Singtatter whose blog grows more glorious by the day. Her design skills are blooming as are her ATC's...another thing that I think is going to be very big in tatland soon.

Whooo Hooo!

It's official...I am a Queen...and not only for a day....be it only a humble Blog Queen.

Humble ...did I say humble!!!!

I am deeply honoured that Lady Shuttlemaker ( she is in my blog role on the left) has deemed me a Blog Queen.

This is what she says

The "Blog Queen" award recognizes female bloggers who are:

1. SEASONED; She has blogged for at least one year.

2. PROLIFIC; She writes several posts each month.

3. FUNNY; She make us smile with her witty humor.

4. ADDICTIVE; She keeps us coming back for more.

You may accept this award or not.
There are no rules to follow.
You may pass it on as you please.
This is just to let you know that you make my day!

Now that's just what I like, an award with no rules!!!

I know that so many people now are going "no awards" on their blogs...including some of the people who have just been nominated for this award and I did think of doing the same. I love the award but not the passing it on!!! yes I know that is not the right attitude....but...I don't want to annoy anybody, or hurt anybody. Lady Shuttlemaker already picked most of the people I would have picked.

To know that someone thinks that I am Seasoned (not just old!) Prolific, Funny ( I like that one the best) and Addictive really makes my day and makes all the effort of blogging worth while. Thank you Lady Shuttlemaker you have always been a lady in my opinion.

Ok, Ok, I will get back to my work!

What do you do when......

What do you do when your Leprechaun is trying to take over your life???

My Rainbow Bright is constantly disappearing and I am beginning to realise where it is going.

Fionn is stashing it away for a rainy day...... very funny Fionn!!

Can you see him up there, he already threw out my photo and replaced it with one of himself and now he is showing off my/his thread. That was the last skein of size 80 and when I asked him politely to give it to me, his answer was just......"Mine, Mine, Mine!"

Well I did get it off him by bribing him with letting him hold my latest rainbow Snowflake from Jon's book.

This one is Efflorescence, made in Rainbow Bright 20 it measure 2.25 inches, a little bigger than Twirly.

The big news is that i have designed a snowflake especially to show off my thread...it's like me basic, simple and straightforward!! as i am NOT a designer!!...and it's coming soooon!!

The second big news is that I have been awarded the One Sweet Blog Award by tattingchic...she thinks my blog is sweet!! aw shucks!!

It was created by an artist by the name of Diana Evans.

To quote the creator of this award, she says, "I have a special award for all the sweet blogs I visit...I am giving this award to all the wonderful people that I visit almost every day....they have inspired me and shared their wonderful lives with all of us....I only ask that you nominate some of the wonderful people you visit each and every day...."

Now I have to award this to other blogs... I have done this before and it is so hard to pick from so many great blogs... so I have decided to give the award to everybody who makes a real Rainbow Snowflake and shows it....cool or what!!! These will all be people that I visit each and every day for sure. So take an award Rainbow Snowflakers.

She also tagged me but I may have to take a rain check on doing that.

Oh! and another cool thing is that I have finally caught up with day 11 of TIAS 4.

I have one serious guess and I hope that I am right and I find myself wishing for it to be tomorrow when the final part is launched.

I love your blog award.

TattyCat (Laura) and Ridgetatter(B.J.) have paid me the greatest honour by awarding me the I Love Your Blog Award.

This is the icing on the cake for me..it makes all the effort of blogging worth while when you know someone likes it enough to do this.

I love every award and every comment that is written...bloggers need this 'fix' to keep them going, so do please leave your comments.

I am so very busy at the moment trying to dye threads and get my shop up and running that please forgive me if I don't single out some blogs to give it to...maybe later as I know it would mean a lot to someone else too. I have 70 blogs in my Google Reader that I am notified about as soon as they are updated and I love each and every one of them...how can I choose just 7!!

Awards!

I have been away in England for a coupla weeks that's why there has been no activity on this blog.
But while my back was turned I have been nominated for two awards so my head is swelling rapidly.
I was tagged by Carol to tell some unimportant things about myself..but...there is absolutely nothing unimportant about me!!! so that's a tricky one and anyway I have been tagged before way back in the annals of this blog....well I'll think about it... thanks Carol anyway.

Ok, well some unimportant things then,

1. We once had a chamaeleon that broke it's arm so we made a splint out of 2 matchstick bits but it didn't heal well, tried again with 2 pieces of aluminium bent into an L shape and the arm healed a treat.

Am I the first tatter to put a splint on a chamaeleon!!!!!!!!!! Do I got an award for that??? The Chamaeleon was pretty pleased!

2. My Car is the most divine purply blue called Lapis Lazuli, it makes me feel happy every time I get into it.

3. My eyes are blue and if I am not careful all my clothes would be blue, I have to make a real effort not to pick blue.

4.Even the tubs in my front garden are blue and co-ordinate with my car.

5. My first pair of good spectacles at 17 were turquoise blue, I wore them for 10 years, I look back at them in horror!

Everyone I know has already been tagged so I think I will pass on that.

But this is the BIGGY!!
I have been nominated by Carol for the Arte y pico Award and also by Laura.
I am so chuffed!

Arte y pico Awards originate in Spain and are given to blogs for their creativity, design, interesting material, and in recognition of their contribution to the blogger community. Cool or what!

The Rules are

1) You have to pick 5 blogs that you consider deserve this award, creativity, design, interesting material, and also contribuites to the blogger community, no matter of language.

2) Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.

3) Each award-winning, has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her or him the ward itself.

4) Award-winning and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of "Arte y pico"blog , so everyone will know the origin of this award.

5) To show these rules.

I use google reader to manage my favorite blogs and have 57 in my list and now I am expected to choose my 5 favorites!! Impossible I love 'em all.
These then must the ones I look at first when I have been away and come back to find dozens of blog updates.
So for their entertainment value, tatting content and ability to pick me up if I am feeling low I nominate...yes I know many have been nominated before but that just goes to show how good they are!!

Laura Laura's Tatting Muse
Jane Tatting and nothing much else
Sherry Tatting Tales ~ All things Tatting (It's an obsession)
Gina Threads of a Tatting Goddess
Sharon 25 Motif Challenge
and an extra one! for good luck!
TattingChic
Please note that these favorites are frequently exchanged for other favorites, nobody must feel left out! Why do you keep making me choose. All 57 are fab' or I wouldn't have them in my Google Reader.
